Burlesque Baseball, a local variation of a traditional baseball game was once a popular pastime. Two teams- “The Slims” and “The Fats” played in comedic costumes to loud music. Players would help themselves to a beer as they rounded third. The audience was said to enjoy themselves too. 1888. From the collection of the Silver City Museum.
