50th Anniversary Capital Campaign
Help us raise a new roof on the historic H.B. Ailman House!
Beginning in 2017, the Silver City Museum’s 50th Anniversary, the Silver City Museum Society has set a capital campaign goal to raise $50,000 for the 50th Anniversary to support the maintenance of the Mansard roof on the H.B. Ailman House.
The H.B. Ailman House is listed on both the State Register of Cultural Properties and National Register of Historic Places. The Second Empire style house with its characteristic Mansard roof was completed in 1881. The house has a storied past and has been the home of the Silver City Museum since 1967.
The current metal standing seam roof has been in place since circa 1974. It is now coming to the end of it service. It was designed to closely replicate the appearance of the first metal roof, based on historic photographs. The Silver City Museum Society is raising money to match other funding sources.
Donations of all sizes gratefully encouraged and accepted! Those who can make a gift of $500 or more to the capital campaign in 2017 will be recognized on a special 50th Anniversary Capital Campaign plaque in the Museum Courtyard.
